This is a maintenance advisory from Iridium. During the above time frame, Iridium will be performing maintenance on the commercial edge routers. These gateway routers are responsible for Iridium Data Services’ Internet connectivity. Replacement of these routers is a critical step to modernize Iridium’s Internet routing design and improve the overall security of the Iridium network. While no service impact is anticipated, there is a possibility that service could be impacted for up to 30 minutes during the window above. Iridium will do everything possible to mitigate service interruptions during this maintenance.

Inmarsat has distributed the below Bulletin in reference to upcoming maintenance to the Inmarsat Network in the EMEA and MEAS satellite regions on September 11th. At 09:36 UTC on August 28th, 2018 Inmarsat issued notifications of service degradation in all regions followed within 1 minute by a Notification that all services in all regions had been restored. We are presently confirming that this most recent degradation was a corrective action to resolve a degradation originally reported at 01:10 on August 28th, 2018. The migration of Classic Aero, Fleet 77, Swift 64 and Inmarsat C services (to include Aero C and Mini C) from the Pacific Ocean Region (POR) I-3 satellite to the Asia/Pacific (APAC) I-4 satellite has been re-scheduled.
New firmware is now available for the Iridium Extreme® PTT handset. This upgrade includes bug fixes to enhance use of the handset. While this release is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that the upgrade be performed as soon as possible to enable the best service experience.
