Iridium Maintenance Advisory

Please be aware that from June 18th to June 19th 2019, Iridium Communications will be upgrading their Billing and Support systems. During this maintenance window no actions with Iridium SIM will be allowed including activation, deactivation and suspension.

MVS assists with Brazilian elections by supplying 1400 Inmarsat BGANs

Iridium is changing for all PTT users (without exception) talk timer from 20 to 40 seconds

  • Release is available as of this morning (Oct 11/2018)
  • All new talkgroups are automatically provisioned with the new PTT talk timer
  • Removing and adding a device from a talkgroup on the PTT Command Center will force the update onto PTT devices
  • Devices on existing talkgroups require a ‘Talkgroup Refresh’ to force the update onto the PTT device
  • The new timer will automatically be available on all existing and new talkgroups/devices by November 10th, 201

There may be instances in which the change will take up to 5 hours to process on the talkgroup/device.  Please read through the documentation and let us know if you have any questions or comments.
